7 Places on the West Coast Worth Visiting This Year

The United States are full of beautiful places worth seeing when you go on vacation. Throughout the states, you can find something completely different going from state to state, which makes traveling worth it. And if you’re looking for beautiful national parks and amazing cities, you should consider the West Coast. In order to help you decide where exactly you want to go, we put together a list of 7 places on the West Coast worth visiting this year.

1. San Francisco, California

We can’t make a list of 7 places on the West Coast you should visit without mentioning San Francisco. San Francisco has a wide variety of attractions for visitors, so you’re sure to find something you like. There’s the famous Golden Gate bridge and the Muir Woods for nature lovers. Throughout the city, you’ll find tons of excellent clubs and restaurants, and the city is known for having amazing nightlife. All in all, San Francisco has a lot to see, so be sure to add it to your list. When planning your trip, however, make sure to think ahead about travel insurance. After all, you can never be sure when something is going to happen, so it’s best to be prepared.

2. Monterey, California

If you’re looking to hit the beach, then you should add Monterey to the list of places to visit. The beaches around Monterey are famous with tourists, and for a very good reason. The coast itself is very beautiful, and nearby you can also find a natural reserve, aquarium, and hiking trails. The hiking trails are also very popular with tourists, as they offer rugged, coastal views which seem to attract tourists from all over the United States to Monterey. All in all, the city is a very good choice for a relaxing holiday on the West Coast. However, experts from Mod Movers Monterey note that you shouldn’t bring all of your important items with you while out and about. But you can’t leave them in your hotel room either, so our recommendation is to rent a short-term storage unit.

3. Seattle, Washington

Seattle is next on the list of 7 places on the West Coast worth visiting this year. This city is filled to the brim with culture, no matter how you look at it. Whether it’s coffee (and we don’t mean just Starbucks), art, music, or breweries, Seattle has amazing examples. If you’re interested in hiking, the nearby Mount Rainier is a great stop as well. And if you’re looking for great views of the city, a visit to the Space Needle is in order. If you’re interested in history, then make sure to stop by one of Seattle’s amazing museums. And when you’re planning your trip, remember to consider some key details. After all, certain things can make or break your trip, so make sure you have everything covered.

4. Napa Valley, California

If you’re someone who enjoys wine, then you should seriously consider paying a  visit to Napa Valley. Napa Valley is famous for its many vineyards and wineries, all of which are worth visiting. To name a few, the V Sattui, Pride Mountain Vineyards, and Castello Di Amorosa are favorites among tourists. With that said, make sure you have your transportation planned out, as we can almost guarantee you won’t be leaving any of these spots sober. So, if you’re in the mood for some wine tasting, consider adding these locations to your plan. And while on the trip, make sure you know how to deal with unexpected events. As we already briefly mentioned, you can never know when something will go wrong on your trip. So, make sure you always have a backup plan, for peace of mind if for nothing else.

5. Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

The Grand Canyon is, by far, one of the most popular locations in the world when it comes to tourism. And to be fair, it’s earned it; the Grand Canyon is a natural marvel and it’s extremely beautiful. And while it’s not exactly on the coast, it’s close enough and absolutely worth visiting. The Grand Canyon National Park covers a huge area, and the canyon itself is enough to fill a day of exploration. However, remember to think ahead about the timing. Due to the weather, the canyon itself might become inaccessible, so take this into consideration when planning the trip.

6. Portland, Oregon

If you’re looking for something more relaxed, then a visit to Portland in Oregon could be a good idea. Portland is generally a very laid-back city and is famous for its food scene. Here, you can take your time and relax however you choose with some good food. If you’re interested in literature, then Powell’s Bookstore is a must; this bookstore has pretty much any book you can think of. And if you want to spend your vacation being active, then you’ll be glad to know that you can go pretty much anywhere in the city on a bike. So, whichever way you like to relax, Portland is an excellent choice for your trip.

7. Redwood National Park, California

If you love nature, then you’ll love your time at Redwood National Park in California. The ancient redwoods in this national park are as giant as they are old. Some of these trees are up to 2000 years old, and you’ll feel extremely small when standing next to them. Despite making you feel tiny, this national park is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the United States. So, if you want to spend some time in nature, this location is an excellent choice overall.
